Let Your Light So Shine

Let your light so shine....

This is the time of year I look at lights shining so beautifully.   Lighting up the darkness, reminding me of my Savior's birth.  Lights shining in the darkness...I'm so grateful for our Ladies Group ministry!  I say that fully realizing we wouldn't be as effective if the men didn't also help us.   Fall Fest was a beautiful example of the church coming together to serve.  Giving time, money, working, shining for God.  Fall Fest is not even designed to be a fundraiser, but as an opportunity to reach out to the community around us.  But with the money raised we can give not only to foreign missions through Overland Missions, but also support local organizations who are battling the drug epidemic, like Brian's Safe House and Sparrow's Nest.  Opportunities to shine Gods light are all around us from the Homeless Shelter to the Women's Resource Center.

The wonderful part of serving is seeing God work in those around me.  Recently I got to see the children praying for the elderly at a nursing home we visited.  I got to hear our group singing songs of praise to people there who can't come to church.  2 Corinthians 9:7 tells me God loves a cheerful giver.  Being surrounded by the light of those giving around me helps me to better see the selflessness of the Love of God.  Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
